Play Store for Android

Wait a minute… Download Play Store for Android?? Doesn’t it come with it already? Android devices are used all around the world. I’m just one of millions of users who have gotten attached to them, for fun, work, and to stay in touch with people.

Android devices are usually sold to users with all the standard Google applications pre-installed. On top of the list, of course, would be the Play Store app. But sometimes, some of these apps are missing, specifically Play Store. This could be due to various reasons; maybe you bought a clone device (which is obviously cheaper, no judgement). Or perhaps a second hand smartphone (which could have been rooted by the previous owner).

And sometimes you have problems using your device and the app would be deleted mistakenly. This is exactly what happened to me. When I was trying to fix a little problem with my smartphone, it froze, crashed and everything was deleted. Anyway, that’s what I get for tinkering around with stuff that’s beyond my area of expertise. So, what to do? How do you get it back on your device?

How to download Play Store for Android devices

You can download Play Store for Android smartphones or tablets in a couple of ways. 1) Using a computer, or 2) Directly on your Android device.

  1. If you are using the computer to download Play Store for Android, go on the web and search “Play Store app APK”. Try to find a trusted site that offers a free download of Play Store APK file that works properly. When you find it, download it to your PC and then use a USB cable or Bluetooth connection to transfer the file to your Android device.
  2. If you want to download Play Store directly on your device, do the same search using the device’s browser. In my opinion, this is the way to go. Once you’ve found the Play Store APK file, tap to download. But please remember before you try to install the file to go to the security settings on the device and allow “download apps from unknown sources”. Android devices are designed to download the apps from one trusted source, the Play Store; if you don’t do this step the installation won’t work.

Once the Play Store download is complete, tap the notification you receive to go directly to the file, or find it using a file manager app – the same as if you downloaded the APK using the computer – and tap the file to install.

You will now find the Play Store icon on your Android’s screen, just as if it had been there all along. Tap to open and enjoy!

Apple users: obviously this method won’t work for you since your OS doesn’t run APK files. You’ll have to jump through a few more hoops to install Play Store.

How to use Play Store

You need to create an account in Play Store, if you don’t already have one, using your Gmail address to log in. If you’re new to Android and Play Store, go get a Gmail account right away. It’ll be your new favorite email platform in no time.

After logging in to Play Store, you will be amazed by this incredible digital marketplace! You will find yourself plunged into an unlimited number of options for all sorts of Android content: apps, games, music, videos, movies, books, newspapers, magazines and more! The app is organized so you’ll never get lost, even though there are literally millions upon millions of apps and other stuff. You can find what you want according to category, or you can see the top charts, new releases and editor’s choice to get up to date on the best, most recent and trending apps.

So now that your Android is up and running with Play Store installed, you’re ready to unlock its full potential. Have fun!
